CP: Where did your interest in creative/technical arts begin?
Loche: Back in high school. I always loved helping and serving within any creative department I could. From graphics to worship, I always have been humbled to grow God’s church through these elements.
CP: What is unique about the culture of The Belonging Co, and how does that impact your job?
Loche: We value His Presence over Presentation. While there is a high level of production and technicality, our goal is to remove distraction so people can encounter His Presence.
CP: Tell us about the recent AVL upgrades at The Belonging Co.
Loche: We just moved into our new building in Nashville, which has a completely new install. This includes Thor LED Walls with Brompton Technology processors, Digico SD10 consoles, d&b audiotechnik KSL Series loudspeakers, Riedel comm systems, Q-Sys networking, a bunch of new movers, and Blackmagic for our video systems/cameras throughout. One specific tech aspect of our broadcast mix is the integration of [Avid] Pro Tools from the mix position. This includes a combination of MADI and Dante interfaces networking together so that the entire mix is broadcast and recorded in the box. It’s new for all of our team, but it has allowed us to create the best broadcast mix we have been able to yet.
CP: In closing, share with us a bit of your personal testimony.
Loche: I was born and raised under the pew, however, in junior high school God became real. He became more than what I read about—a real and living God. It was through worship music that I came to know Him as a friend, but I have never lost the fear of God in who He is. It’s been those two elements, the knowledge of God and the relationship with Him, which have been the purpose in my life—to help others understand Him in the same capacity.
