Radial Engineering introduces its StageBug SB-5 Sidewinder Laptop direct box, designed for quick deployment on busy stages. The SB-5 features an integral five-foot cable terminated in a 1/8 connection for laptops, tablets and personal music players that is secured in place with a compression fitting. Connection from the source device is usually achieved via a headphone output. Inside the SB-5 are two transformers delivering full stereo operation. Should audio techs encounter a device with extra high output, a -15 dB input pad is activated to reduce sensitivity and prevent overload distortion.
