Link Electronics introduces the AIP-494, a three-gigabit level B, high definition or standard definition serial digital interface (3GB/HD/SD-SDI) closed caption encoder, that allows true IP captioning.

The AIP-494 takes the user-selected channel pair or AES that is embedded on the SDI input and sends that audio to a captioner via IP. A free audio-over-IP player is provided by Link to monitor the audio. No special Internet services are required.
