Chauvet Professional introduces its first Ovation batten style fixture, the new Ovation B-2805FC. Designed to spread rich vivid colors to more places, the fixture follows up on Chauvet's popular Ovation E-910FC RGBA-Lime ellipsoidal. Like their ellipsoidal forbearer, the new Ovation B-2805FC and Ovation B-565FC battens feature an RGBA-Lime LED system designed to create bolder, more vivid colors and brighter whites.
“Our original RGBA-Lime fixture met with a very enthusiastic reception, because it opened a whole new realm of color mixing possibilities for designers,” says Albert Chauvet, CEO of Chauvet. “The natural thing for us to do was extend this color mixing capability from the ellipsoidal to the batten category. Our new Ovation battens offer the broadest palette you can find in a batten style fixture.”
The two battens' bright output, make them well suited for cyc lighting and large-scale washing. A 69'”x 8.26” x 8.13” (1,753 x 210 x 207 mm) linear fixture, the Ovation B-2805FC is powered by 280 8-watt LEDs. Its smaller counterpart, the Ovation B-565FC, measures 13.9” x 7.48” x 8.14” (355 x 190 x 207 mm), and is powered by 56 8-watt LEDs.

Both of the Ovation battens come with a holographic filter. This filter is designed to seamlessly blend colors at the fixture's aperture and locks into place, so it can be used in any orientation without losing its position.
The new fixtures work with a wide variety of control options, including RDM, Art-Net and sACN, in addition to standard DMX. Up to 10 sections can be controlled individually for maximum flexibility. A virtual color wheel is matched to popular Rosco gels and color temperature presets are designed to make programming easier. Since they are LED fixtures, the new battens consume less energy, reduce heat emission and lower maintenance costs compared to incandescent and CFL's. Both fixtures also feature a streamlined design to aid in cooling and make power and data connections easier.
“In keeping with our design philosophy, we not only worked to create superior color mixing with these fixtures, we also wanted to make them reliable and easy to use,” says Chauvet. “The only way innovation matters, is if it's reliable and convenient enough to use in the field.”
