2016's InfoComm show in Las Vegas, Nevada, features the introduction of two new models of Electro-Voice X-Line Advance series of loudspeakers. The X1-212 and high-performance X2-212 are 120-degree versions of the already released 90-degree models in the series. The company release says, "The X1 and X2 increase the flexibility for users where wide bandwidth, directivity, and high efficiency are required in a compact enclosure."
The X1 is designed as a wide-coverage system or as the near-field element in installed line array systems. Featuring a 12-inch woofer and two 2-inch titanium compression drivers, the box features a waveguide optimized for high-efficiency and linear, uniform pattern control. The X2 is built for wide coverage applications in live sound. It's 12-inch neodymium woofer and two 3-inch titanium compression drivers have been redesigned for high-output live use and in-phase summation.
Both speakers use the company's Integrated Rigging System (IRS) for quick setup and tear down and are compatible with all flying grids and transport dollies currently available for 90-degree versions. Electro-Voice has included FIR-Drive processor settings available for download along with new IRIS-Net speaker settings and EASE files for array mapping and prediction.
